Description
Best suited for. Heavy mineral scale removal on compatible ceramic toilet bowls, porcelain, vitreous china and urinals.
Choose this when. You need a strong cling gel for stubborn calcite and limescale deposits on acid-compatible surfaces.
Choose another product when. You are cleaning marble, granite, natural stone, stainless steel or another acid-sensitive surface.
Highlights
HCl 33% w/w. Industrial-strength hydrochloric acid in a precision gel delivery system — the concentration used in professional descaling operations, accessible at institutional procurement scale.
pH 1.5–2.0. Aggressive calcium carbonate and uric scale dissolution at a single 30 ml application — effective where weekly maintenance has failed to prevent chronic build-up.
Thick gel formulation. Clings to under-rim and vertical bowl surfaces rather than draining immediately — contact time is where descaling happens, and the gel ensures that contact time.
Dye-free and transparent. Dye-free appearance supports visual application control; follow the listed substrate compatibility and rinse instructions.
Designed for high-use washrooms. Healthcare, industrial, and educational toilet blocks where daily user volume makes standard maintenance cleaners insufficient.
How to use & dilute
Measure. Use a dedicated acid-resistant squeeze applicator. Measure about 30 ml for one treatment area as stated in the product instructions.
Apply. Apply directly to scale on compatible ceramic/porcelain surfaces, keeping the gel controlled on the deposit rather than spreading it across surrounding materials.
Finish. Allow only the product-specific contact period, scrub if required, then rinse/flush thoroughly. Never mix with bleach or other cleaners.
Equipment & dispenser compatibility
Compatible equipment. Angled-neck or squeeze-bottle gel applicators and acid-resistant toilet brushes for controlled bowl and urinal application.
Use conditions. Keep the gel in a dedicated, clearly labelled applicator that is compatible with acidic products.
Not intended for. Do not use through trigger sprayers, fine-mist pumps, foggers, automatic floor scrubbers or other equipment that can aerosolise the acidic gel.
The chemistry
What is the chemistry of acid descaling in institutional washrooms?
Limescale in toilet bowls is primarily calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), deposited from hard water as it evaporates. Uric scale — the yellow-brown staining characteristic of high-use male urinals and toilet bowls — is a complex of uric acid, calcium, and protein compounds.
Usage economy
Pack planning. 30 ml per bowl. One 5-litre pack. 166 complete descaling sessions.
Consumption planning. At a stated dose of 30 ml per bowl application, a 5L pack provides approximately 166 measured applications. Actual consumption depends on scale severity and the site maintenance schedule.
Cost control. For high-use washroom blocks, set the descaling frequency from actual scale accumulation and water hardness rather than a fixed site-duration assumption.
