Description

Best suited for. Chlorine-based surface disinfection, drain treatment and decontamination where the site protocol specifies sodium hypochlorite.

Choose this when. You need to prepare a defined chlorine working concentration from a 10% stock solution.

Choose another product when. You need a routine general cleaner, are working on chlorine-sensitive surfaces, or cannot safely segregate it from acids and incompatible chemicals.

Highlights

10% w/v available chlorine. High-strength concentrate for dilution into working disinfectant, surface bleach, and effluent treatment solutions — not a ready-to-use small-format bleach.

Oxidising chlorine concentrate. Intended for surface disinfection, drain treatment and laboratory decontamination when diluted according to the specified application.

Dual-purpose formulation. Functions as both a disinfectant (at lower dilution) and a bleaching/whitening agent (at higher concentration) for lab glassware, drains, and hard surfaces.

Stabilised alkaline carrier. Alkaline pH slows chlorine off-gassing and extends shelf stability versus unstabilised hypochlorite solutions.

Cost-effective at scale. One of the lowest per-litre-of-disinfectant costs available — dilutable to very high working volumes for institutional and industrial use.

How to use & dilute

0.1% working solution. From a 10% stock, use approximately 10 ml concentrate per litre of final solution—about 100 ml concentrate made up to 10 L total solution.

0.5% working solution. Use approximately 50 ml concentrate per litre of final solution—about 500 ml concentrate made up to 10 L total solution.

Protocol. Select the target chlorine concentration from the facility’s infection-control or decontamination protocol. Never mix hypochlorite with acids, ammonia or other cleaners.

Equipment & dispenser compatibility

Compatible equipment. Manual dilution in dedicated chlorine-resistant containers and calibrated dosing or proportioning equipment whose wetted parts are specifically rated for sodium hypochlorite.

Use conditions. Use only clean, dedicated equipment and verify tubing, seals, valves and containers against the equipment manufacturer’s chlorine-compatibility guidance.

Not intended for. Do not use fine-mist trigger sprayers, foggers, aerosol generators or unverified metal dispensing components that can promote exposure, corrosion or chlorine decomposition.

The chemistry

How does sodium hypochlorite disinfect, and why does concentration and contact time matter so much?
In water, sodium hypochlorite establishes an equilibrium between hypochlorite ion (OCl⁻) and hypochlorous acid (HOCl). Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is the more reactive species in hypochlorite chemistry; follow the labelled dilution, contact-time and rinse instructions for each application.

Usage economy

0.1% working solution. A 5 L pack of 10% stock can prepare approximately 500 L of 0.1% working solution.

0.5% working solution. The same 5 L pack can prepare approximately 100 L of 0.5% working solution.

Protocol control. Choose the target chlorine concentration from the facility procedure for the actual task; do not use one strength for every application.
