Description

Best suited for. Kitchen extraction systems, chimneys, exhaust hoods, greasy equipment and industrial machinery.

Choose this when. You need a concentrated alkaline degreaser that can be adjusted from maintenance cleaning to deep degreasing.

Choose another product when. You are cleaning aluminium, painted or soft-metal surfaces, or need a cling gel for severe carbonised deposits.

Highlights

pH 11–12 saponification system. Converts fats and oils into water-soluble soap-like compounds on contact — the chemistry that makes carbonised grease deposits soluble rather than simply loosened.

Effective on the full soiling spectrum. Fresh cooking grease, polymerised surface films, and carbonised baked-on deposits — the three stages of grease accumulation that require progressively stronger treatment.

Measured strength by soil. Approx. 30–50 ml/L for maintenance, 100–150 ml/L for heavy grease, with neat use reserved for severe compatible spot deposits.

Kitchen fire-safety maintenance. Grease accumulation in extraction systems is a primary cause of commercial kitchen fires — regular chemical degreasing is a fire safety maintenance requirement, not a housekeeping preference.

Mandatory rinse protocol. Formulated for structured kitchen cleaning programmes; thoroughly rinse treated food-contact surfaces and record dilution and use according to site procedures.

How to use & dilute

Routine degreasing. For 1 L water, use approximately 30–50 ml concentrate. For 5 L water, use about 150–250 ml.

Heavy grease. Use approximately 100–150 ml/L after a small compatibility test.

Severe carbonised spots. Use neat only as a controlled spot treatment where the substrate and site SOP permit it, then rinse thoroughly.

Equipment & dispenser compatibility

Compatible equipment. Chemical-resistant trigger sprayers, low-pressure pump sprayers, brushes and soak tanks for removable compatible parts at the stated working dilution.

Use conditions. Apply only to cool surfaces, allow the stated contact time, and rinse where required. Equipment seals, tubing and containers should be rated for alkaline degreasers.

Not intended for. Avoid high-pressure misting or spraying onto hot operating equipment.

The chemistry

What is saponification, and why does pH 11–12 convert grease into something that washes away?
Saponification is the alkaline hydrolysis of a triglyceride (fat or oil) to produce glycerol and the sodium or potassium salts of the component fatty acids. The reaction is: triglyceride + 3 NaOH → glycerol + 3 sodium fatty acid salts.

Usage economy

Routine yield. At 30–50 ml/L, a 5 L pack doses roughly 100–167 litres of water.

Heavy-use yield. At 100–150 ml/L, the same pack doses roughly 33–50 litres of water.

Control. Match strength to soil severity; routine hood soil should not automatically receive near-neat chemistry.

Water quality

Performance can vary with local water hardness. Use the lowest effective dose and follow site water-treatment guidance where hard water causes residue, weak cleaning or excess product use.

Caution & storage

Concentrate handling. Strong alkaline degreaser. Wear gloves and eye protection and use with adequate ventilation during heavy-duty cleaning.

Surface limits. Check compatibility before use on aluminium, painted surfaces, soft metals or sensitive finishes. Do not mix with acidic cleaners.

Storage. Store upright and tightly closed away from acids, heat and direct sunlight. Prevent contamination of the concentrate with other chemicals.
