OSHA standardized SDS format 16 numbered sections use करता है। यह sequence workplace users को information consistently locate करने में मदद करता है, लेकिन SDS को isolated sections के बजाय complete product-specific document की तरह समझना चाहिए।
Sections 1–4: identity और immediate hazards
Section 1 product और supplier identify करता है। Section 2 hazard identification summarize करता है। Section 3 composition/ingredient information देता है। Section 4 first-aid information रखता है।
Sections 5–8: incident response और exposure control
Section 5 firefighting information, Section 6 accidental-release information, Section 7 handling and storage, और Section 8 exposure controls तथा personal protection cover करता है।
Sections 9–11: technical hazard information
Section 9 physical and chemical properties, Section 10 stability and reactivity, और Section 11 toxicological information cover करता है।
Sections 12–15: environmental और regulatory topics
इन sections में ecological information, disposal considerations, transport information और regulatory information आते हैं। ये standardized format का हिस्सा हैं, हालांकि OSHA इनके content को enforce नहीं करता।
Section 16: other information
Section 16 other information और preparation/last revision date जैसी details रखता है। इससे current document identify करने में मदद मिल सकती है।
SDS reference है, training का substitute नहीं
Workers को employer hazard-communication program, training और approved procedures follow करने चाहिए। केवल section headings पढ़ना product-specific instruction को replace नहीं करता।
