Contact time और drying time अक्सर confuse होती हैं क्योंकि दोनों surface पर liquid के time से related हैं। Disinfection में इनका meaning अलग है।
Contact time validated exposure requirement है
Contact time relevant antimicrobial claim के लिए product label द्वारा specified period है। इस दौरान treated surface generally label के अनुसार visibly wet रहनी चाहिए।
Drying time physical outcome है
Drying time वह समय है जिसमें applied liquid evaporate होकर surface dry बनाती है। Temperature, airflow, texture, porosity और applied amount इसे change कर सकते हैं।
दोनों times automatically equal नहीं हैं
Surface required contact time से पहले dry हो सकती है। तब labeled wet-contact condition पूरी नहीं हो सकती।
Contact time पूरी होने के बाद भी surface wet रह सकती है
Required contact time meet होने का मतलब यह नहीं कि उसी moment surface dry होगी। Post-contact handling label/facility procedure के अनुसार करें।
Operationally difference क्यों matter करता है
“Looks dry” को disinfection requirement complete होने का proof न मानें। Workflow में full coverage और full labeled contact period allow करें।
Drying conditions बदल सकती हैं, label नहीं
Warm rooms, airflow और absorbent materials drying fast कर सकते हैं, लेकिन labeled contact-time requirement shorten नहीं होती।
